{"id":13,"date":"2006-03-09T21:05:00","date_gmt":"2006-03-09T18:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rocky-peak.com\/blog\/?p=13"},"modified":"2006-03-09T21:05:00","modified_gmt":"2006-03-09T18:05:00","slug":"canadian-rockies-picture-perfect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rocky-peak.com\/blog\/2006\/03\/canadian-rockies-picture-perfect.html","title":{"rendered":"The Canadian Rockies &#8211; a picture perfect backdrop for a Hollywood film"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The success of Hollywood&#8217;s award-winning and critically-acclaimed Brokeback Mountain has spurred unprecedented efforts to woo tourists and moviemakers to the foothills of Canada&#8217;s conservative Alberta province where the film was shot.<\/p>\n<p>The movie was shot along the Canadian Rockies, primarily in the Kananaskis Country region near Banff National Park, a rugged landscape often described by director Ang Lee as &#8220;mythical.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>There have been many movies filmed here &#8211; watch out for the &#8220;Assassination of Jesse James&#8221; starring Brad Pitt, due to be released later this year.
